Laying Amolock Easy Classic, Easy Design & Easy Wood: these points must be observed!

Before laying Amolock Design click tiles, the subfloor must be checked for evenness and stability. For comprehensive advice, please contact us if the floor is likely to be subjected to heavy loads, for example due to transport vehicles.

Before installation, remove all objects from the installation surface and clear the subfloor as thoroughly as possible of dust, dirt and unevenness. Cracks, holes and other unevenness should be filled with a suitable joint or levelling compound. A prerequisite for a perfect installation result is a substrate that has been constructed in accordance with the recommendations of the applicable national or European standards.

Step 1: Checking the temperature conditions

Amolock design kick tiles must be adjusted to the respective climatic conditions of the installation area before installation . For this purpose, store the tiles for 48 hours at 18 to 26°C in the corresponding room. The higher the temperature, the faster the tiles will acclimatise. To speed up this process, you can remove the tiles from the pallet and distribute them in stacks of 11 tiles in the location.

Do not install the tiles at a temperature below +15°C. During and 24 hours after installation, the temperature should be between 18 and 26°C . This will prevent the tiles from expanding. This will prevent the tiles from expanding and contracting. When installing under normal temperature conditions, temperature-induced movement of the tiles may occur. Therefore, a minimum distance of 10 to 15 mm should be maintained between the tiles and all other fixed points such as walls. When laying below +15°C, this gap should be slightly larger still. For installation below 0°C, you should contact our customer service.

The expansion joint or also dilatation joint of 10 to 15 mm is necessary especially for outdoor installation for thermal expansion where the floor is exposed to varying temperature conditions.

Step 2: Installation

Thanks to the click system, the design click tiles from Amolock can be installed particularly quickly and without prior knowledge. Tools are only required to a minor extent. Start the installation in a corner and work from left to right. Lay the tiles diagonally to the wall and make sure that the eyelets are visible on the right-hand side. Note the distance of at least 10 mm to the wall and all other fixed points in the area. Now press the tiller into the eyelets to join the tiles together.

Step 3: Laying the border tiles

Use a knife or saw with a fine saw blade to cut the border tiles. For very precise and accurate cuts , it is advisable to use a cutter or guillotine. For complicated cuts, making a template can be helpful. For a perfect cut, it is also advisable to turn the tile over so that the underside is facing upwards.

When cutting the edge tiles, there are a few points to bear in mind. Tiles bordering the wall should be at least 10 to 15 cm wide. Tiles adjacent to doors or corners should be at least half the size of a whole tile.

After cutting the tiles, the cut surface should be turned towards the wall to maintain the expansion joint. The joints can be filled later with a grout or fitted with a skirting board.

Important notes!

In each collection, Amolock offers matching end profiles and corner solutions for the design click tiles. These as well as cable and socket covers are available as accessories. To prevent the PVC tiles from shifting in the garage, we recommend anchoring the first row in the subfloor with screws .

If other construction work is being carried out in the area of the installation, you should provide the design click tiles with appropriate protective measures so that they are not damaged or contaminated.
